Coleman Light

Coleman Light trailer can hold up to 10 sleepers at once. It features power stabilizer jacks, a queen bed, and a durable design. It offers 12 different floor plans, so there are multiple designs and customization options. Each floor plan has at least one slide.

Coleman Travel Trailer

 

The Coleman travel trailer is the essential travel trailer model. It has the lowest price of all Coleman trailers, and it serves as a blueprint for all the trailer series from Coleman.

In this review, I will discuss the premium features, price ranges, the advantages, and downsides of the Coleman travel trailer, so let’s get started.

Price Range

The price range for travel trailers can vary a great deal and for obvious reasons. When you look at the Coleman travel trailers, the price range lies in the lower half of the average price range.

The base price is $21,000. Hence, they lie in the ranks of affordable and economical travel trailers.

Weight and Size

The trailer weighs 2,986 pounds. Hence, it’s neither too bulky nor too light. It has a decent length of 21’5″ so there should be much space inside the RV. Considering that it has only four sleepers, the amount of living space makes it an ideal option for smaller families.

As compared to other trailers, the Coleman trailer is much higher. It has a height of 9’9″, so you don’t have to watch your head when moving around.

Floor Plan

While there are multiple floor-plans available for Coleman Campers the Coleman Travel Trailer has only one floorplan 17B. It guarantees enough space to move around quickly, and you can customize the living space as per your needs too.

Beds

The Travel Trailer includes a queen-sized bed at the front of the trailer and includes a pair of bunk beds in front of the bathroom at the other opposite corner of the travel trailer.

Interior Decor

Ironwood is the main ingredient used for the interior decor. The designs and patterns are quite intricate yet cheap, so it gives a luxurious feel. In its price range, the material quality is top-notch and comparably better than some other models.

Dinette

The dinette has a classy feel to it. Stylish dark wooden panels separate it on either side. The dining table features a white marble top, and the seats have a leather covering.  

The design uses the extra space quite well with overhead cabinets in the dining area. These cabinets have glass doors that add to the classy looks of the dining area.

I am impressed by the color combinations for all models, particularly the ambiance. They give a relaxing, warm feeling inside the RV. Although they can accommodate as many as 10 people at once, it does not seem congested. Hence, it’s an excellent place to hang out and host your guests. 

Kitchen

The stove in the kitchen features two burners. In the kitchen, there is both a microwave and a refrigerator that is 3.3 cubic feet in size. There are no modification choices available since that was requested by the customers.

A chic high-rise faucet is paired with an expansive sink in this bathroom. Inside each of the trailers is a ventilation and temperature control device known as an exhaust fan. In addition to that, there is a floor cabinet with three drawers located right next to an extra storage area. Because there is an additional cabinet located over the sink in the kitchen, there should never be a shortage of storage space.

 

Power Features

Like most modern RV trailers, the Coleman trailer features the state-of-the-art power maintenance features and accessories. There is a built-in battery charger. It’s a solid-state charger, so it will prove to be economical in the longer run. 

Connection points are also available for solar panels. Since solar panels provide free energy, you can get rid of your power consumption problems if you plan to install one of these on your trailer. There is also a 30 Amp power cord for extension and outside usage.

Water Management

There is enough water holding capacity for four people on board. However, I think that this capacity could have been better. There is a freshwater tank of 27 gals., a grey water tank of 28 gals., and a waste tank having a capacity of 28 gals.

Entertainment Features

I have some reservations about the entertainment features of this truck. Usually, you will find one LED TV inside the RV. Most of the RVs of the same price range offer a TV screen, but the Coleman trailer doesn’t.

You will find internal speakers, but they only connect via AUX cable or an MP3. On the contrary, you will find Bluetooth speakers in most RV trailers these days.

These customization options can be available on request, but they don’t come built-in with the trailer, which I feel is one of the downsides of this RV.

Bath and Toilet

The bathroom area features a single door all in one bathroom. A shower curtain that the toilet from the wet bath. The toilet has a foot pedal flush. Additionally, there is an overhead fan for both the galley and bath area, so that there is proper ventilation throughout.

Wheels and Axle

Buyers often overlook this feature, but I think that it’s as essential as any other. The Coleman trailer features radial tires consisting of classy silver spoke rims. It’s a single axle trailer, and it’s an easy lube axle, so there is limited drag and, therefore, better fuel efficiency.

Exterior 

The trailer has a single-step entrance. From the outside, the shape is quite attractive. It has a sporty feel to it. The exterior outlets also allow you to cook outside the trailer. Hence, you can manage barbecue parties and late-night sittings while camping. 

You can also relieve the tires thanks to rear jacks that efficiently manage the trailer weight. It’s useful because it keeps your tires from bearing unnecessary load when the trailer is parked. Also, it gives more stability to the vehicle, particularly on sloped areas.

Company Service 

I like how the company owns their products. It has a 98% answer rate to customer queries. Moreover, the service department answers more than 90% of the customer calls within 20 seconds. It’s a clear indication of customer-value at this company. 

Understandably, machine parts will undergo wear and tear. Therefore, Coleman’s efficient service and customer support are crucial highlights that enhance the company’s reputation.

Trailer Inspection

When you buy a Coleman trailer, you get a 100% inspection before the delivery. There is a rigorous 253-point inspection procedure to ensure that the customer receives their ordered product precisely.

It’s a critical checkpoint because it promotes trust between the buyer and seller.

Pros and Cons

Let’s look at some ups and downsides of this trailer.

Pros

• Offers excellent value for money when compared to other models in a similar price range

• The entire floor comprises of residential grade vinyl, so there is guaranteed floor quality and durability
• Appropriate length and height allow the user to move around inside the vehicle comfortably

Cons

• Since there are many features and accessories, there are more chances of malfunctioning, so you need to keep regular checks on the trailer
• Because the material is cheaper, the travel trailer may have to be used carefully during extreme conditions-       
• It may not work best for families with small children because there is a potential risk of rough usage. Hence, the intricate design and finishing can be easily damaged
• There are limited options for entertainment     
• Speakers don’t have wireless connectivity      
• May not be suitable for permanent living

What Customers Say

On discussion forums and review sites, the Coleman trailer appears as an above-average trailer. On average, customers have given it a 4.5 out of 5, which isn’t too bad.

According to the users, these trailers are quite efficient and livable. Most accessories comprise of residential grade material, so it gives a home-like feel to the users.

According to some users, the kitchen drawers could be better secured. They tend to wobble, which creates noise and can potentially damage the cabinets.

Some of the customers who claimed warranty suggested that it takes a bit of time to get your claim. However, others suggest otherwise and are quite happy with how the company deals with the customers who claim the warranty.

In a nutshell, the customer reviews indicate that Coleman travel trailers are worth it. If you’re researching any of these trailers and eventually end up buying one, your efforts won’t go wasted.

Conclusion

If you were to take my opinion, I would give it a 4.8 out of 5 ratings. One of the most impressive things about this trailer is the value for money. However, it is quite a luxurious design, but it is also minimalistic in many ways. Hence there is less maintenance cost.

The Coleman trailer will give you excellent value for money in the longer run, which is just what customers want, especially when traveling with the family.   

For me, the Coleman trailer is an excellent option for both beginners and experienced RV travelers. It’s a perfect option for weekend camping and campsite parties.
