Certa ProPainters, Ltd. is a franchisor of more than 370 independently owned and operated CertaPro Painters® franchised businesses located through the United States and Canada. CertaPro Painters began operations in 1992 and has become the largest residential and commercial painting company in North America.

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for system wide operational support of franchisees and leads the Operations Team to Deliver Extraordinary Experiences to everyone who comes in contact with the CertaPro Painters brand. The Vice President of Operations is tasked with growth of systemwide sales and profits in a manner that is consistent with the Core Values of CertaPro Painters:

The successful candidate will report directly to the President and CEO.

Essential Functions of Vice President of Operations

  • Leverage assertive leadership to generate business results in a manner that is consistent with the CertaPro Painters vision, mission, and strategy
  • Ensure that all Operational decisions are aligned with CertaPro Painters’ strategic anchors of market share, brand experience and profitability
  • Recruit, hire, manage, and lead Regional Vice Presidents and their teams to ensure they are operating at peak performance and achieving their goals
  • Build and maintain a strong, respectful culture within the Operations Team
  • Influence, inspire, and challenge members of the Operations Team and franchisees to reach their potential and achieve their goals
  • Assist with the development of P&Ls, sales and financial trending, and other financial reporting
  • Help develop and implement the Operational strategy for CertaPro Painters and ensure that all stakeholders have clarity and focus around short-term and long-term objectives
  • Conduct field visits with members of the Operations Team to provide assistance, coaching, skill development, and evaluations
  • Facilitate and attend meetings of flight groups, regional cooperatives, and other franchisee groups
  • Provide skill transfer to members of the Operations Team as well as to franchisees in areas such as marketing, sales, production, financial management, and team development
  • Facilitate and assist in producing and delivering training materials and driving the Operational strategy through meetings, workshops, and other means of support
  • Develop strategies to maximize revenue and minimize costs
  • Plan and coordinate Franchisee functions to build morale and further develop relationships
  • Assist in the development of new programs and services to support franchisees and help them increase efficiency and profitability
  • Create a culture of accountability and responsibility within the Operations Team
  • Ensure that the Operations Team operates in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as in compliance with the Franchise Agreement, Franchise Disclosure Document, Standard Operating Procedures, and other internal documents and policies
  • Assist in the development of solutions to complex problems that mitigate risk and promote franchisee growth
  • Provide accurate, practical, and timely business advice/support for franchisees
  • Work cross-functionally and collaborate with all departments to understand the needs of CertaPro Painters
  • Leverage technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Operations Team
  • Assist in the further development and growth of the CertaPro Painters brand
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to work primarily from the corporate office in Audubon, PA
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; MBA preferred but not required
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in an Operations role, with at least five years’ experience in an Operations leadership role
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Sales background with history of meeting and exceeding performance goals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well both independently and in a team-based environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Franchise knowledge or experience a plus, but not required
  • Business ownership experience a plus, but not required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to resolve conflicts while maintaining strong relationships
  • Ability to lead a team that inspires high performance along with a strong team culture
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills to communicate with various stakeholders
  • Experience in creating, analyzing, and coaching financial reports in order to assist with financial management processes for Corporate and franchisees
